Social Justice
"If I, therefore, the master and teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash one another’s feet. I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do."
Social Justice
At the Catholic Parishes of the Blue Hills there are a growing number of ways our parishioners “wash the feet of others.” Some of the ministries include:
Catholic Parishes of the Blue Hills Outreach to the Homeless
- We run toiletry and clothing drives for those in need in Boston. Our coordinator of the Outreach to the Homeless Program is Audrey Pugliesi.
- This same program also makes sandwiches for the homeless in Boston on Fridays at 12- Email nonni.p@icloud.com if you would like to get involved!
- If you are interested in joining our coordinator Audrey in this program on Saturday mornings, please contact nonni.p@icloud.com!
St. Vincent de Paul
- The St. Vincent de Paul group responds to phone calls requesting assistance and has collection boxes in each parish.
- Through the work of our St. Vincent de Paul Society, we are able to help those in need who struggle financially. We annually offer a Christmas giving tree where we collect gift cards for our neighbors in need in Boston and surrounding communities during the holiday season.
- If you need assistance or need to reach out to St. Vincent de Paul, please call 857-342-9500, ext. 37.
Food Drives
- Each month, we collect nonperishable food and monetary donations to support the “Hyde Park Food Pantry”
Pro-Life Baby Shower
- We have also collected new, unwrapped basic baby items such as clothes, diapers and toys for new mothers for the Crisis Pregnancy Center of the Archdiocese of Boston.
- When we run our Pro-Life Baby Shower, only new items are acceptable. Monetary donations are also accepted.
